IPMN Compass

Terms of Service

Effective Date: July 1, 2026 — investigational TestFlight preview, pending public launch and counsel review.

Welcome to IPMN Compass ("the App"). These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the App. By downloading, installing, or using the App, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

Description of Service

IPMN Compass is a companion tool designed to help patients living with a pancreatic cyst understand their condition, track visits over time, and access educational content. The App lets you enter cyst measurements and visit notes, record and summarize visit conversations, and log symptoms, so you and your care team have a shared record over time.

For healthcare providers, the App provides reference and decision-support tools drawing on published IPMN management guidelines, including the Kyoto 2024 international consensus guideline as the default, with other guidelines (including ACG 2018, European 2018, and AGA 2015) selectable by the clinician.

The App is currently distributed as an investigational preview through TestFlight and is not a finished commercial product.

Not a Medical Device. The App is NOT a medical device and is NOT intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease or medical condition. The App is NOT a substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment.

The educational content and guideline-based decision-support features are provided for informational purposes only. They do not generate individualized medical recommendations and they do not replace clinical judgment. All clinical decisions must be made by qualified healthcare providers using their professional judgment in the context of the individual patient.

Medical emergencies. IN AN EMERGENCY, CALL 911 OR YOUR LOCAL EMERGENCY NUMBER IMMEDIATELY. Do not use this App to report an emergency or rely on it for time-sensitive guidance.

Clinical decision support, not directive

IPMN Compass presents guideline-based decision support drawing on published IPMN management guidelines. The Kyoto 2024 international consensus guideline is used by default; a clinician user may instead select another published guideline (including ACG 2018, European 2018, or AGA 2015) as the basis for the reference shown. Whichever guideline is selected, the App does not issue a directive. All management decisions — surveillance interval, escalation to advanced imaging, referral for surgical consultation, indication for resection — must be made by qualified healthcare providers who have evaluated the individual patient.

Risk and uncertainty

Pancreatic cysts are a heterogeneous condition — the probability of one progressing to pancreatic cancer varies by cyst type, size, location, imaging features, and patient factors. Published guidelines reflect expert consensus that has evolved over time and that continues to evolve as new evidence emerges. No calculator — including any value or band shown in the App — can substitute for shared decision-making between you and your care team.

If you notice a warning sign

Contact your healthcare provider or seek emergency care immediately — rather than relying on this App — if you experience:

User Responsibilities

You are responsible for:

Patient-entered data & AI-generated content

The App relies on information you enter, including cyst measurements, symptom presence, and dates from prior imaging reports. Incorrect data entry may lead to inaccurate summaries or reminders. You are responsible for verifying the accuracy of information you provide, and your specialist will independently confirm imaging findings from your actual radiology reports.

If you use the optional AI features (for example, to summarize a recorded visit or pasted report text), review the output for accuracy. AI-generated summaries can miss or misstate details and are not a substitute for the original recording, document, or your clinician's own notes.

Disclaimer of Warranties

The App is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.

We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or completely secure. Reminders and educational content are provided as a convenience and should not be relied upon as the sole method of tracking your surveillance schedule or making care decisions.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the developers, contributors, and affiliated institutions of IPMN Compass shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of or inability to use the App.

Intellectual Property

The App, including its design, code, content, and educational materials, is the intellectual property of the IPMN Compass project and its contributors. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works without written permission.

Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. Continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.

Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
